Neck muscle soreness

(3 discussions)

Hello,
I’m a weightlifter and about 2 weeks ago I injured my neck doing upright rows. I had difficulting sleeping for several days and felt a little hard to breathe at some times. The pain has decreased somewhat but the large neck muscles on both sides of my neck are still sore. Any ideas on what injury this might be and how to rehab it or will it go away?

Thanks,

Jon

Torticollis is awful. This is what I had. Head was locked to right and could not move into normal position for 8 weeks. Then I could just about move to straight position but I looked like Frankenstein. Neck was locked stiff)

6 months later I have almost recovered except still stiff roating to left.

It’s the worse and longest injury I have ever had. No-one could help me.

A neuro. told me I had nerve damage on right side of neck. this is why it took so long to repair….But I received a different opinion from every one I saw.

I was recently wresting in school and I got slammed to the mat on my neck. It felt a little strange, but I continued the match. Afterwards My neck was so stiff and I couldn’t move it to the right. I went to the doctor and he told me It was Torticollis. My left shoulder is higher than my right, and my head points down and to the right. How long will It take to heal my neck, and how will I do it?

I injured my neck 5 months ago and it’s still not right.

Whilst jogging I whipped my neck and damaged the nerve. Couldn’t hold my head straight for three months. much better now but still not right.

I hope your injury clears much faster than mine.

Go and see a professional sports injry clinic and have them asses what you have done. It could save a lot of anxiety.

    Mark
