Need some help for my daughter
(3 discussions)
I was wondering…my daughter having RSD and nerve damage to her toes and foot almost to my ankle would it be good to put it in a cast or boot? The nerve damage and rsd are a result of a surgery gone wrong. Please help…shes in so much pain. When we put an icepack wrap on it it supports it she feels better. Thats why I’m curious to know about having a cast or boot placed on the foot.

I am sorry I do not treat RSD. I refer the patient to either a neurologist or pain management specialist. There are physical therapists who specialize in treating these types of patients.
Tender Foot
Scroll down and try to find the information about ice and RSD. I’m pretty sure it said that you should never ice RSD. rsdrx
Tender Foot
Do a search for H. Hooshmand, M. D., P.A. There is a lot of RSD information. According to him, never ice if RSD is suspected.
