No fungus, but nail pulling away….

I have no fungus, no infection, but the big toenail on my right foot appears to have begun to pull away from the toe.
It is not from the nail bed but from the top of the toe.
I noticed it tonight while removing polish.
It is in a “V” shape going toward the nail bed — about 1/4 inch.
Any ideas?

The cast or cast brace might or might not be needed, depending on variables such as your needs and wants. Where the fractures are located, how stable the fractures are etc. It is not unusual to have discomfort this soon after a fracture. Remember the foot is the only part of the body that you injure and expect it to heal while you are walking on it.
