Sometimes a tarsal tunnel syndrome is diagnosed with a nerve conduction test. A neurologist or physical medicine specialist can usually do this. A MRI is sometimes useful if there is a soft tissue mass causing the problem. Generally, I have a suspicion based on the clinical signs and symptoms that the patient describes.

This could be a symptom of tarsal tunnel syndrome. It would be best to have this examined and evaluated further for more information.

What is the process of diagnosis for a nerve problem such as this? MRI? Symptoms? Something else?
