numb tingling fingers

(3 discussions)

I have mild scoliosis, that never really bothered me growing up. The past few years I have had knots between my shoulder blades that cause stiffness and pain. It was tollerable. My last visit to the chiropractor showed some deteration in the cushion of the virtibras, and they have twisted a little. I have now been having tingly fingers almost 24/7 at times waking me up at night. I have found relief massaging the area on the corner of a wall or doorway. I can’t afford going to the doc 3-4 days a week for adjustments. Is there anything else I can do?

Stretching the right muscles, and strengthening the right muscles is the best “active” care you can do. Ask your chiropractor about which to do. In many cases, its best to stretch the pectoral muscles (front of the chest), and strengthen the posterior back muscles. However, ask your doctor for stretches and exercises!

For a week now, I’ve been experiencing numbness and a tingling sensation in my left palm and pinky and ring fingers. It is a scarey feeling and very uncomfortable. At times, it feels like a rubber band is tightening up around my hand making the sensation more prominent and then the band releases and causes the sensation to relax. Almost like a contraction felt as the stomach tightens up. I know wierd, right….I’ve only seen my primary care physician, she took xrays thinking I had a deteriorating disk, came back negative, prescribed some inflammatory medicine that hasn’t helped, in case I had a pinched nerve… I’m scheduled to see this doctor again tomorrow….the numbness and tingling is worse, any suggestions?
