numbness in pinky toe and heel

I have numbness on the underside of my left pinky toe as well as a small patch on my right heel. I also have gotten severe muscle spasms in my back (thoracic region) as well as sporadic back pain in various areas. The orthopedist doesn’t think the numbness is caused by my back although I haven’t had any MRIs yet. My pain is mostly upper back though. What could cause this numbness? I don’t know how long this has been there although I just feel like it’s one thing after another since having 2 babies in the last 3 years in my early 40s!

If the pain in the heel is on the lateral (or outside edge) same side as your 5th toe, this can be comming from spinal nerve S1. This can also be an entrapment of the Sural nerve. I recommend you consider seeing a neurologist for another perspective.
