Odd finger/wrist injury

I wouldn’t call it an injury per say, but rather an annoyance. I went to pull open a drawer in my kitchen 3 or 4 days ago, using my fingertips, as I have done many, many times before. This time, however, I felt a “popping” sensation through my middle and ring fingers, through the palm of my hand and my wrist. Since then, I have experienced some numbness in those fingers, as well as a feeling that they have “swelled” as I flex my hand. My question is, is this the beginning of a carpal tunnel problem, or am I just getting old? I am 30 and fairly active. Any thoughts?
