Osgood Schallters and groin strain (almost 3 years)

Hi,

I’ve got my Osgood Schlatters sourted out pretty much, just a few questions. When will it heal? A person told me (he had it checked out from a professional apparently) that it will never heal and the bone will always remain, and I have to have it surgically removed?

and about my groin.
After straining my groin, and starting Martial Arts classes, I had to improve my flexibility greatly. In doing so, people told me “the pains are only because you’re stretching” which wasn’t the case, I actually stuffed it. They thought I couldn’t take the pain and it wasn’t a “injury” in doing so, I tore the ligament off my groin. But I have good flexibility in my hamstrings I use to put weights on my legs and stretch against a wall

Anyway, again, how long will this take to heal. After both x rays, it said basically I was “fine” but it’s taking long time to heal 2 months so far. I expected my groin to heal quicker. Really, it’s not getting any better and staying at the same state for quite some time and/or improving very very slowly.

Short story on my Osgood Schlatters Disease:
I finally saw a doctor when a team mate told me about the lump on my knee (I thought it was natural)

I competed intensively, almost everyday with very heavy training, all the coach said was “push yourself harder” I figured, the pain wasn’t that bad (well it was, but I couldn’t let my friends down)

6 months after being advised I saw a doctor and had x rays. Since then I have rested and it’s gone down a bit. Point? Know your limits to a certain extent where you should just get it checked out… now I’m being pressured and failing my PE subject, which I cannot participate, I think that is crap and unfair, but that’s life. Not only that but, get things checked out ASAP.
