Osgood Schlatters

Hi my 10 year old daughter was diagnosed with this a few weeks ago. She is not a sports person or dancer. The most she does is walking and riding bikes etc. It looks like she has a softball under her right knee and it is very painful. Is this common with kids this young who are not “active” in the sense most of these cases seem to be. And what kind of help can I give her besides ice. She cannot take ibuprofin it makes her vomit. any help would be appreciated

You can get an osgood schlatter brace from amazon that will help manage her pain. It is not common in inactive kids and if it really is the size of a baseball instead of a golfball… I would make sure it’s not something more uncommon like a tumor.
