Morton’s toe

(3 discussions)

My second toe on my right foot was always longer than my big toe and now overlaps it to a significant extent. It looks weird and is a real problem when I have to wear shoes (even wide ones) The second joint is also quite swollen. I have tried various ways of restraining/retraining the toe over the years, but it always flips back over the big toe. What is involved in surgery to correct this problem?

Bruised Heel?

I was playing basket ball and came down hard on my right heel. My heel feels very tender now and I cannot put any pressure or weight on it at all. I have to hobble around on my toes. What is the estimated healing time for this type of injury and what do you recommend as far as speeding up that process? Thank You,Aaron [email protected]

4th and 5th toes of right foot

For the last 4 weeks I have been exeperiencing a constant numbness in my right 4th and 5th toes.
There was no trauma that I am aware of and no medical condition that I am aware of that would cause this.
I recently began horseback riding again after a 6 year hiatis and feel this problem correlates with the riding again

mortons neuroma

I had surgery 4 yrs. ago for mortons where the surgeon went in from the top of the foot. (both feet) It was successful and I have been pain-free until 6 mos. ago. Both neuromas have returned and after trying the corisone shots again with no luck, he has recommended surgery but this time says he must make the incisions from the bottom of my feet. I’m really worried about the scar tissue and post op recovery. Should I get another opinion?

Shoulder Impingement

(2 discussions)

I’m 50 years old and have a pain in my shoulder. It is like a nerve is being pinched. I have trouble raising my arm above my head and sometimes the pain wakes me up at night. I’ve stopped doing shoulder exercises, but the pain seems to be getting worse and it almost seems like the shoulder is starting to lock up on me. I did have bursitis in that same shoulder awhile back. What should I do for exercises and stretching and should I use ice or heat for it and for how long? Should I stop weight training completely? Thanks you so much for your time.

multiple broken ribs

I was in a severe car accident Sept.1, 2013. I ended up shattering a wrist, breakinga finger, collapsing a lung, getting lots of glass in my face, and breaking 7 ribs. the first one in the front and then c2-7 in th back. one in my back has healed, overlapping with about an inch sticking out with a large gap inbetween. my concern though, is with the still broken ones. I have nerve ending damage from them and I am a severe diabetic on the insulin pump. im only 19 years old. I still have not been sent to a physical therapist, although I am searching for one close by right now. my consern though is that my my doctor wants me totally off of pain meds, and to learn how to hypnotise myself telling myself that im not in pain. i’ve tried talkng myself out of pain before and t has not worked. I have taken many forms of pain meds for these injuries but I have built up a tollerance for all but ultram, which my regular physician perscribed, not my pain doctor. .. and my pain doctor doesn’t want me taking it. my question is if a chiropractor may be a good idea. my ribs overlap and un-overlap and grind constantly adn its very painful. I can’t do everyday things when this happens and lately its happening often. I use to get cortozone shots in my spine every two weeks but a month ago my doctro quit them and wants to only give them two me every three months.i’m in excruciating pain most of the day and I get week, dizzy and sleep a lot of the day. I can’t live like this. could you recomend anythng?
