pain in groin/thigh

(4 discussions)

About 2 weeks ago, I noticed that my inner thigh groin muscle was sore.
It was not a sudden pain, but just slowly started to hurt throughout the course of the day.
That morning I had used my treadmill (which I use daily) but decided to add more incline and speed that particular morning.
So I thought maybe I had overused it.
I stayed off my treadmill for the next 2 days, and decided on the 3rd, I would try to use it. For the next 5 days I was able to use it, however with no incline, and light jogging as opposed to running.
It hurt after, but not intolerable. Then the next day I used it and was not able to even stay on, it hurt so badly.
So I decided I just had to let it rest if it were to get better.
I have not used the treadmill for a week now, and it seems like it’s getting worse not better.
The pain has moved to my upper front thigh now as well.
I was wondering if it moved there due to me using differnt muscles in my legs. I have a history of sciatica, but don’t feel that that is the issue.
However, when the pain started to move, I got nervous it was. The pain is sharp, and can cause me to lose balance. It feels like an electric shock at times.Any ideas?
I’m sick of sitting on my sensored!

I have pain in my goin area too. your pain sounds very similar to mine. I went to the doctor and found that I have arthritis in the joints in the groin and hip . It would be a good idea to discuss this with your doctor.

About 6mo.ago I started having pain in my upper inner thighs I also have developed pain in my left hip. I have had problems with my back for years. Old compressed fracture in lower back, degenerative discs, thorasic nerve end infection, sciatic nerve problems, I could go on and on, but I don’t wish to bore you! I am taking Ibuprofin,800 milligram twice a day,the prescription is for thee times a day but I try not to take it at all If I can help it.

I too, have pain in my groin area. Doctor told me I had pulled a groin muscle after taking up walking. He said it would “take a while to go away”. Well, after little over four years it’s still there and getting worse. It sometimes circles around my whole upper thigh at the very top and sometimes pain in the hip. X-rays are normal. Worse after a 12 hour stint on my feet walking in the Emergency room. Forget about the treadmill….it’s worse after that too. Rest makes it go away. I’m thinking about trying a chiropractor next. I don’t know what to do to make it go away.

I have similar pain in the inside left thigh (high) just about where the fold of my thigh meets my groin area. Only hurts while sitting and pain radiates about 2 inches down the inside of my thigh. I noticed that while going up or down stairs the outside area just below my hip hurts too. Does anyone have any answers for this?
