pain under big toe

Hello. Ever since I moved to New York and started walking regularly, I have had a strange sensation under my big toe. The pad of the toe is fine, but the area near the joint is very sensitive. It hurts a bit when I walk long distances, and it’s sensitive to the touch now all the time. It’s tingly and a bit numb around it. It’s almost as if there is a nerve there that didn’t exist before. Do you have any idea what could be causing this and if I should see a podiatrist about it?

If you have this no matter what shoes you wear, then it could be a bone spur or a nerve entrapment. If it only happens in a specific shoe, then don’t use it any more. If this continues, then see a podiatrist
