Painful shins

(3 discussions)

I have had bad shins for about 3 years( on and off).
Several doctors / specialists have ruled out shin splints, strees fractures etc.
Had a isotope bone scan which revealed nothing and have now been told to come back again in 6 months if the problem stays.
Problem is that nobody seems to have a clue what it is and I haven’t played sport properly for 3 years now.
Even after a short jog the pain comes back and legs feel heavy.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I get a painful, throbbing on the OUTSIDE of my left shin. It lasts for a few seconds and happens several times each day. Sometimes waking my up at night. No swelling or redness and no pain when I rub the area, even when the throbbing is happening. Any ideas? Thanks.

that pretty much seems like what i am going through right now, but mine have only been going on for about a year. i’ve been driving myself crazy because i’m young and i had to give up all athletics. i was so bummed. the one thing i have found that lessens the pain so that i can do some mild work-outs is a perscription drug that my doctor gave me. it’s called mobic. i don’t know if this helps, but its worth a shot. hope it does.
