Patellafemoral syndrome

(2 discussions)

Last year I suffered a blow to knee and the for the last year I have had a lot of problems with it. The doctors and physiotherapist say it is patellafemoral syndrome. But iam not quite sure how they are related to one another. Can you please explain to me how a blow to the knee could cause this.Sincerely,Adam Thomas

i suffered a triple spiral fracture of the femur in April 2013,had femural nail inserted, from knee to hip, with bolts.Left leg is now shorter than right, so I walk with very bad limp. Have been told by Physio I can have shoes built up to even length of legs.Is this true and how soon can it be done once fracture has completely mended.

You can have custom orthopedic shoes(they sometimes can take a regular shoe) and then they adjust the height. Orthotists that can do this are listed in the Yellow pages under “orthopedic appliances”. They can advise you also.
