Pebble-like Callouses?

Dear Doc, Under my foot, at the edge, proximal to the pinky is a painful hard growth. (I guess onthe ball of the pinky). It gets very hard and when softened, can be picked off. What comes out is small white pebble (the size of a small lentil). The hole grows in again, filling in the hardened hole with more hard pebble-like tissue. It never hurt in the past, but for the last year it’s been causing pain. Thanks!!!

Sometimes a callus can do this. Sometimes it might be something else, i.e. a wart.
I recommend you see a podiatrist for evaluation.
