Persistent Knee Pain!!

I’ve had knee pain for the past 3 months and it will not go away! The pain is in my left knee towards the posterior/medial part. The pain radiates into my upper calf and lower hamstring on the medial side. I also have GREAT pain when I try to stretch my left hamstring, especially if it is a stretch that involves pressing my heel to the floor, or propping my heel up on something, then bending over to stretch. That motion, trying to contract my hamstring against resistance, really hurts! It also hurts to fully extend the knee while contracting the quad. I have no pain at all while squatting/bending. I am a runner, but I only run 2 to 3 days a week for no more than 4 miles each run. I’ve tried resting the knee (RICE) for 3 weeks, but after a 4 mile run the pain returned stronger than ever. I don’t have much pain WHILE running…
I have no pain in or around the knee cap. The pain radiates from the back and towards the inner part of my knee.
Please help!!

I need to add that I have not suffered any traumatic injury to my knee…no falls, or blows to the knee.
