    A physical therapist helps people recover from injuries or surgeries. We help people who have had strokes walk again, rehab after knee surgery to strengthen muscles and improve walking patterns. We work in hospitals helping people walk after total knee replacements. We work with children who aren’t developing well in regards to movement. We treat wounds and burns.
    They need a bachelors degree… I think now it’s a masters degree, sit for a licensing test. When the test is passed and they have a license to practice in their particular state then they can apply for a job.
    When I was in school 10 years ago you needed a bachelors degree(4 years of college) Now I believe they are all masters degrees (5-6 years of college).
    You need the basic courses of english, sociology, math, history, art…then you need to take your sciences…physics, chemistry and biology. You take 2 years of prerequisits and then you apply for PT school. If/when you are accepted it’s another 2-3 years of schooling which is strictly geared toward PT.
