plantar faciitis

I’ve had plantar faciitis for a couple of years.
I understand there is a non-invasive treatment now that does the same thing as a cortizone shot. Can someone tell me the name of that treatment?
I’d like to check with my insurance company to see if it would be covered. Thanks,

Stretching exercises have shown to be 95% effective for heel pain. The exercises just take time and do not work overnight. There is not a better more conservative treatment for heel pain than the stretching exercises. Heel pads will help with the pain. The softer ones are better than the hard custom made expensive ones according to a major study done. Of course Doctors don’t make too much money prescribing this conservative treatment. And inexpensive heel pads don’t make as much money as $300 orthotics.
