Plantar fasciitis physical therapy not effective

I waa diagnosed w/plantar fasciitis from a orthopedist. I am currently getting PT 2x’s per week. Therapy includes-Stretching,ice,massage,Vioxx prescripion daily, gel heel cups for my shoes, electric stim and some Cybex PT equipment where I point and flex at various speeds. I am now entering my 2nd month of PT and have no relief. Do I have any other options other than cortisone? I am a runner and this injury is killing me mentally.

All of the PT you have noted can be helpful to some patients some times. I suugest you see a podiatrist for further evaluation and treatment recommendations. Be sure to bring your running shoes as well as everyday shoes with you. Most podiatrists can make a custom orthotic to control the abnormal forces on the plantar fascia. An evaluation of your gait as well as mechanics of your foot would be necessary.
