on the ice point from muscle dawg he is correct but ice should only be applied in the acute stage of the injury (first 3 days) if u weren’t sure what he meant by haematoba(big word) blood in the joint from a injusred tissue (muscle, ligament) I would go to see a doctor but most of all i would try to speak to a sports therapist a lot of doctors will just get u to rest which is ok but u should start rehab strectches from day 5ish so you can get the tissues back to normal. u never said exactly how the injury occured wether u had kicked a ball withh the toes over plantar flexion (toes to ground) or any other way more info may help
    cheers.

You should definitely have a doc look at your ankle soon. In fact its worth a call to see if (s)he wants to see you quickly.

It sounds like you may have a haematoma in your ankle which might be compressing nerves and bloodvessels accounting for your neuro-symptom but the only person who can tell you for sure is your doc.

If the lump is ‘gelatin-like’ try elevating your ankle above your heart for a good period and see if that makes it feel better.

If you can tolerate some ice, I would Ice for 20 minutes at a time to see if it improves but if it makes it worse stop doing it until you talk to the doc.

    Hope that helps,
    Muscledawg.
