popping shoulder

(4 discussions)

My shoulder pops everytime I rotate it around, as in a throwing motion. I have noticed the strength in my arm to be decreasing over the months as well. Any suggestions.

I had rotor cuff surgery expect 6 weeks to 6 months of therapy, pain for 3-4 months and still hurts after you use the shoulder for more than few minutes

My left shoulder “pops” out of place and then feels like it snaps in again, and this is very painful. I had an MRI of my shoulder and am now waiting for the results. Though the techs could’t tell me anything, they allowed me to view the images directly after the MRI was complete. I’m no professional, but it looked like MRI images I had looked up online that showed stretched ligaments, which require open surgery to repair as opposed to arthroscopic surgery. If anyone is interested, I’ll post my results. Good luck to all.

Jason, I have had two surgeries to repair a loose anterior capsule (ligaments). I am only 23 and recently dislocated my shoulder again. I had an MRI that shows what you expect is wrong with your shoulder. I am currently in rehab and would recommed that you rehab the heck out of your shoulder and avoid surgery. Because the shoulder has so much range of motion, the surgery performed for loose ligaments is not an exact science. In order to tighten the ligaments enough but not too much is an art and is more or less a guess on the part of the surgeon. Like I said, I have had this surgery done twice and need number 3, don’t do surgery until you have exhausted all other options.

    Hello.
I have had arthroscopic surgery on my right shoulder in 2011 which turned out to be unsuccessful. I now have no movement in my shoulder at all and when it is moved, it is a VERY painful experience! Just had 9 MRI Images taken of it yesterday, and was given the images to take to my surgeon, who is suggesting Shoulder Replacement Surgery – I am only 20 years old!Because of this, I can no longer compete in Horse Shows until my shoulder is fully healed… this sucks!!!
    Take care… keep you posted.
