Possible Hyperextended Leg

(2 discussions)

While I was playing soccer all I did was simply pass it with the outside of my foot to a team mate.
I might have stretched it out too far but I heard a snap and could barely walk on it.
I limped off the field slowly.
What happens is that I can walk regularly fine but if I try to lift my leg too far there’s a sharp pain.
I can’t really bring the flat side of my foot facing straight without it hurting either.
It’s seemed to have gotten a lot better but I still haven’t been able to jog or jump properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you may have torn your ACL(anterior cruciate ligament) If there is instability or a giving out sensation you definitely need to see an orthopedic sports medicine knee doctor. They can do the tests to tell if the ligament is torn and what options. If there is instability it can cause more damage to the cartilage / meniscus and he can advise.
