PT

I am 23 and looking to get out of the production job enviroment I am in. I would like to become a physical therapist, however I cannot afford schooling and I have to work full time to pay bills, morgage, etc. I have seen an at home course offered by ISSA for fitness therapist, I am hoping it would be the right step toward my goal. I am very knowledgeable about fitness and muscle for being self taught. Although I would like to learn more and develop a career in this field. I would like to know a good solid route to take without breaking my bank, and similar jobs in this feild of science I possibly could use as a stepping stone. Thank youPlease Email me to respond.Chris

Chris, I think you really need to talk to some PTs, and spend time with them at their clinics, to make sure that this is what you want to do. If so, don’t waste your time and money with the fitness therapist course…you would do much better to spend that time and money towards the college level courses you will need to take (and score very well in) just to get into a PT school. These days, PT schools are very hard to get into, so you need to talk to some PTs to make sure you are doing the right things towards getting into a good school. Also, most PT schools now are Master Degree programs, so plan on being in school for several years. You might also want to ask about the PT Assistant (PTA) programs, as well as look into some Athletic Training Programs. Talk to some PTs and Athletic Trainers (ATCs) to get a feel for what your options are. Good luck!
