PT for scapular winging

Do you have any idea how successful PT is in treating patients with scapular winging?
I have had winging of the scapulas for about 18 years now.
My orthopedist says I need to PT for 6-8 months total, if it doesn’t help he will send me for surgery in Philadelphia.I’m over two months into the PT now and my muscle strength is significantly above-average (I used to be a power lifter). I apparently have impingement/tendinitis because of the winging.Your thoughts? Thanks,Dave

hey, thats a really encouraging story. I also used to lift weights really heavily and one day while power lifting(benching) I almost felt as if I pulled my scapula out in winging position and had pain for a while. now my right pectoral muscle has shrunk and my right scapula is winged out. Do you think that they can treat a one sided winging because it sounds like most people have it on both sides and that they were born with it or something. I would like to know a lot more information about this problem so if u can help id appreciate it thanks a lot.
