pulled pectoral muscle

(7 discussions)

Recently, I felt a searing pain in my left chest area as I reached back (awkwardly!) to get get something out of a bag on the floor.
I felt as though I had pulled a muscle.
This was over 10 days ago and the pain is getting worse. Only when I’m lying down is there any relief.
What can I do?Grateful for any help you can offer/

I worked out at the gym on a Thursday night and by Saturday my left pectoral muscle hurt just to breathe! I’m not sure if it was from the workout or from severe coughing I’d been doing for the previous two months because of pneumonia. Please help me with any suggestions that might make this feel better asap. Thanks!

I have recently ruptured my pec muscle and I am having surgery this week. How long do you think the rehab is going to be?? I was planning on playing college ball this year, but I’m figuring that is out of the question now. But next year is always an option. Just looking for some professional opinions.

Try Rick Schlauch Beer and Corn Chips first, then use ice for the relief, not heat, as this will expand the muscle and cause even more trauma to the pulled muscle; the muscle has nowhere to expand, hence the pain. Ice will shrink the muscle and provide analgesic relief.
