Pulled pectoral while doing bench press

Three days ago I was on the bench press.
I was lifting quite a bit of weight, but nothing more than I was used to.
I unracked the bar and it was coming down fine.
It touched my chest and as I was pressing it up, I felt something snap or pop in my left chest area.
My spotter lifted the bar off me and I immediately felt excruciating pain in the upper left part of my chest.
Since then I have almost gained full range of motion in my left arm.
I do however, still feel a tightness sensation on the upper part of my arm pit.
My left pectoral is bigger than my right as well.
What happened?
What is the treatment? How long will I take to heal?
I am 27 years of age and I workout regularly and am in good health. Can I expect any permanent damage as a result of this injury?

I don’t think it is my pectoral muscle, but I can’t complete a bench press. I do feel a tightness in my right shoulder muscle.
