i’m 29 years old and about 4 months ago I pulled my left quad.really bad I went to er and they said put ice on it and to stay off of it fo a week or two. It did not get any better so I went to my orthopedic doctor. He said I had partial tear of left quad.and that it would heal in time..that whase 4 months ago.and I have pulled it twice sence then. What can I do to stop this problem….roger

    I also pulled a quad while runing track. The trainer said just put ice on it. It felt better for about an hour after the ice each time, but after that the pain killed me. I finally figured out that to stop the pain take an Advil or an Aspirin

      playing softball running my quad seem to tighten up what can I do about this.

    stay absolutely off of the pulled quad….as that’s the ONLY way that it will ever heal correctly. If you keep on doing what you’ve been doing to make it hurt, then it will never recover. Continue to ice it, or even heat will help. Also, Tylonol or some other type of pain reliever might help once in a while. And continually elevate it when laying down. That’s about all you can do for a pulled quad…..Some people even wrap where it’s in pain so that it can possibly help heal it quicker by putting pressure and blocking the blood flow through that area a little.
