RE: Corns

I don’t know what to do.
I have two corns in my right foot.
I don’t know how to get rid of them.
Lately they have been getting worse.
My question is: Is there any type of surgery or procedure that they can perform in order to remove the corn? & Do most Insurance cover it?

Corns are a result of underlying bone spurs. As the bone spur rubs the other toes, a corn develops. Surgery involves removing the spur. As far as insurance, most do cover this. There are the occasional ones that limit procedures done to the toes. You’d have to check with your particular plan.Another thing you can do is to use foam padding or lambswool to separate the toes which would relieve some pressure. Look at your local pharmacy.Avoid over the counter corn removers…these often do more harm than good. Good luck,Misti
