reoccuring stress fracture in the fibula

Hi,
I’m a ballet dancer.
I dance over 14 hours a week in pointe shoes.
My ankle started hurting last year around December.
I ignored the paing until I had a break in June.
My doctor told me that I had a stress fracture and I needed to stay off of it for six weeks.
I did as he told me.
I didn’t dance or do any real activity (besides walking).
I came back to dancing and about 4 weeks later my ankle started hurting again similar to the way it hurt before I took 6 weeks off.
I went back to my doctor and he told me that I had reflared my stress fracture.
I have been off of it for two and a half weeks now.
I am very worried that it will become cronic and become a major problem in my dancing.
Is there any information you could give me about how a stress fracture becomes cronic, and could you give me any advice on how to keep this frome happening.
Thank you so much for your time.
