Ripped off my toenail HELP!

I ripped off my big toenail this afternoon and am looking for any sugestions for caring for it.
The whole nail came off in one piece.
Hurts big time!!!
I soaked it in Iodine solution(very mild mix) but am afraid to put anything on it.
It is very tender and still oozing. I’m afraid that gauze will stick and realy hurt later.Need to keep it clean I know, but any hints would be appreciated.
Will it grow back O.K?

I would recommend you see a podiatrist. Until you do, I suggest you dress the area with a topical antibiotic such as Neosporin, as long as you are not sensitive to it. Use Telfa on the wound and then gauze over that. Tape it lightly with a hypoallergenic tape. You can mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water and pour this over the bandage several times daily. You can change the bandage daily.

Tracie, I ripped mine off too. Almost knocked me out. I read that it will grow back in time, and after a couple weeks now, it looks like it is.Jason
