ruptured bicep tendon

(2 discussions)

Has anyone with a ruptured bicep tendon been able to continue to play tennis and swim at the same level as before the injury (without surgery)? Also, has anyone had any experience waiting for several months after the injury before having surgery?

If you ruptured your Distal tendon (elbow) then you should get it repaired AS SOON AS possible. I don’t know about proximal (shoulder) ruptures but my distal tendon was not repaired for a month and I lost some motion and almost was not able to have a reattatchment without a tendon graft.

I had surgery on my bicep tendon which ruptured at the elbow completely. Had surgery 2 weeks later. Recovery was a little slow and painful, but 4 1/2 mths later I am painfree completely, golfing and lifting light weights again. Lost a lot of size but working to get it back slowly.
