school

I am writing because I have a question. I am an exercise science major and I will be graduating in the spring or summer of 2017. I am trying to go into physical therapy. do you think it would be smart to become a physical therapy assistant first, then eventually go on to physical therapy school or just go straight there? I am asking because since I am not a physical therapy major (it wasn’t offered at my school) I do not have exactly all of the requirements to apply for MPT program. or instead should I just take an extra year to get all of the required courses. please help. thank you

NO…go straight to PT school. Why be an asst first? You will learn much more in PT school and have the autonomy at your work when you start working and you will make more $$ That’s just my opinion, you do what you can during this time in your life. Good luck..M. Scott PT
