screw is too long after Austin bunionectomy
(2 discussions)
I had both feet done in Feb, 2014 and the right foot still hurts bad.
My doctor took an x-ray and said that the screw was to long.
Is this normal?
I have to have surgery again to take the screw out.
Please help.

First of all, it is not unheard of to have to remove a screw. Second, I'm not sure what your request for help is. Certainly, if you came to my office and I took an X-ray and said the screw needs to come out, it would need to come out. Hopefully you have communicated to your doctor your concerns. Good luck.

I was just wondering if it was common to put a screw in that was too long. I had the screw removed today and seem to be doing better
