Sesamoiditis

I have been diagnosed with Sesamoiditis by a Podiatrist. I am a Mom of 4 children (one being 2 1/2) and a puppy, slowing down is very difficult for me. I have had special padding made for my feet and still have discomfort. I have also had a bone scan so we know that it is not a fracture. About 3 weeks ago I had cortizone shots in both of my feet. It may have helped a little. Presently I have the pain back again and I still have sore spots where the cortizone was injected. My Podiatrist says I need a second round of shots….My question is, is this the standard procedure when the first round wasn’t really successful?
Thank you.
