severe neck pain

i woke up this morning w/o any problems, but when I bent over 2 pick up an item, my neck made a cracking sound and I was in extreme pain. I can not move my head to the right and just a little to the left. I cannot move it up and down at all w/o another shot of pain. What happened?

I traveled 7 hours yesterday wearing a halter top that had a strap that went around my neck. The strap was uncomfortable with me trying to move it down around my neck the entire time I drove. When I got home, I changed tops, but my neck was stiff as a board. I cannot move to the left or right, or up and down. What can I do to releive the pain, and stiffness that I have.
