Severe pain after knee surgery 7 1/2 weeks ago…

Hello. I need help. On January 19, 2005 I had knee surgery. I had a “Left knee patella realignment, medial VMO reefing and imbrication of MPFL ligament.” The past 2 weeks my pain in my knee has gotten worse to the point where I cannot take the pain anymore and the past 2 days it became more severe. I told the doctor 2 days ago and he changed my meds from vicidon to Mobic (which is a joke) and he said it might be scar tissue or soften cartlidge….my PT thinks it’s scar tissue because of where the pain is (right above, below and the inside of my knee). I am able to bend my knee 90-95 degrees on my own and 120-125 degrees with my PT so my range of motion is coming back. The pain is severe and hurts so bad when I am sitting or laying down but when I’m standing I am ok. What I need to know is is this normal? Does scar tissue hurt this bad? Does or did anyone have the same problem? How do we find out if it is scar tissue or not and if it is how do we fix it? Am I looking at surgery to remove it? What if it is soften cartlidge??? I know I should be asking my doctor these questions but he wouldn’t be straight forward as anyone who would reply…If there is anyone with information PLEASE let me know. You don’t have to answer all my questions if you do not have any answers or information but any and as much information will help. I want to thank you in advance, Danielle.
