Severe Shoulder Dislocation

I have just dislocated my left shoulder three days back, while participating in a local climbing comp. Although the doctor have placed it back in place, I was not informed of how its going to recover, or rehabiliate myself back to by previous form. It has been painful as I was at my peak.

On Monday, I juz returned from a first visit to a orthospaedic doctor of mine, for a look at my dislocated shoulder. This is the third I did an X-Ray too to check the alignment of it.

It seems the crux of the whole injury was much much more dire than I could have expected. My left deltoid muscle presently is numb, and have no feeling. The doctor diagnose that I have damaged my nerves presently. Permanent or temporary can only be determine weeks later with another visit to him.

Thus right now, due to the damaged nerves, I can hardly contract or use my deltoid muscle at all. And thus X-Ray shows my arm is slightly drooping, and not really held back in place fully, due to the deltoid disfunction for now. The alignment is slightly lower than normal.

Right now, he gave me some supplements to promote nerve recovery. And all I can do is wait now for the next few weeks to determine the outcome.

Climbing to me was my soul, my passion, and have been my life for the last six years. I was climbing, and training very hard. Getting this accident was very painful for me, and hearing such news now, left me very very lost.

I hope anybody out there whom have been thru similar experiences, or know what to do, would appreciate if you can email me on rehabiliating methods, recovering strategies, or even words of encouragement or advices. Thanx.
