Severed big toe

My big toe was almost severed right below the nail by a truck lift. It was above the joint thankfully.
The bottom part of the toe was not cut.
The slice went a little diagonally into the toe.Bleeding was minimal.
The bone was broken.
The doctor sewed it up and home I went. One week later I am 3 days from suture removal.Standing becomes painful as blood gathers in the foot.
Laying down is more or less painless. Circulation looks good.
How long does recovery take?
Can these situations lead to a 100 recovery and toe use?
Do I see a orthro, podiatrist or continue with my MD? I do have a toe nail that will be failing away soon. Thanks,

There is much that you have not mentioned that would need to be known about the extent of the injury. To be brief, I believe a podiatrist or orthopedist would be a good referral for follow up.
