shon splints

hell there I play alot of football in my university and I ahve developed shin splints over the past year. is it possible to develop this injury as a result of running technique. I have had a physical done on me recently and the physio observed that I seem to put most of my downward pressure when running on the out side of my feet rather thatn having an equal balance throughout my foot. can this be the cause of my injury?

    Yes, the mechanics of the foot can throw off the vector pulls of particular muscles causing more to work than others…thus shin splints…you may require custom fit orthotics to correct your ill running technique. See a doc or PT.
