shoulder blade pain
(6 discussions)
Sometimes I get a extremely unbarable pain in my shoulder blade area. It happens when I am holding something, sometimes when I turn my neck, or just simply sitting and not moving any muscle voluntarily. I have been to the doctor, chiropractor, and phisical therapy. I have been suffering for over a year. I’ve been told numerous things by my doctor, but no tests have been done. I seem to be in pretty good health otherwise. I am finding that there are many other people on the internet that are also getting no results. Please give me some ideas to tell my doctor to do. I can’t take it any more.

Pain under the left shoulder blade can be a signal that there is a problem with the stomach or other abdominal structures (ulcers, pancreatitis, ectopic pregnancy). Reason I asked. It does however sound more mechanical in nature. Have you seen a chiropractic physician at all?

Chiropractic Physician, chiropractor, doctor of chiropractic all the same.

Are we talking in between the shoulder blades or under the right or left or both?

If a chiropractic physician is not the same as a chiropractor than no I havn’t seen one. I am going to see a massage therapist on Friday. Hopefully he will be able to help me. I hope it is helpful. Thank you.

It is on the left side more towards the bottom of my scapula area. The part where I can’t reach if I have an itch.

Yes I have been to a chiropractor. A week ago to be exact. I go every month. He always tells me that I will feel better. He never fixes the problem. My neck and back feel good though. I’ll just keep trying until someone fixes it. Otherwise I’ll just deal with it. I’ve done some research and looked up symptoms of sicknesses that cause pains in the left shoulder blade. I don’t have any of them. I think that it may be mechanical too. Thank you.
