shoulder strain

my shoulder is strained in the rotator cuff, to elaborate, it hurts and I can not lift my arm at the shoulder pivot point up in front if me and sideways to my body. The pain subsided after 2 days of non use, I regained mobility, so I worked out, lifting heavy went normal, but basketball shooting caused re-agitation. What should I do?

    Man, you gotta give it weeks of rest, not just 2 days. Let your body heal, then go back at it slowly.
