siatic nerve damage post-surgery

Hi, I recently had surgery, a section of small bowel was removed. An hour after the surgery I could not feel my right foot, from the ankle below. Over the week, I began to feel sensation in my right foot but the tingling and the pain in the foot has continued and worstened over the past week.
The neurologist who has seen me has said that it is an L5 siatic nerve.
I am suppose to receive physical therapy very soon, but the pain is intolerable in my right leg, it is now slowly moving up to my thigh. Do you have recommendations of excercises that I can do to help my leg before I see a physical therapist in a couple of days? Thanks

Just wait to see your PT …ask them if a TENS unit would be appropriate for you.
