siatica or herniated disc?
(2 discussions)
I am a female body builder and have been for 24 years. For the last several months I have had a pain in my left hip. In the last few days the pain has gone from my left hip to both hips, down my buttocks and my hamstrings, around the front to my groin and upper legs. My lower back is tight but as for pain there, compared to my legs and other parts is negligible except for the tightness. I have no pain when I sit down, only in getting up and the pain is so severe I almost collapse. In doing research, it sounds more like a herniated disk than the siatic nerve. Will stretching eleviate this problem without surgery if done consistently and correctly?

Please excuse my mishap in “sensordocks.” I tried to correct my sentence and I have no idea how I came up with that. The word should be buttocks.
