i know this isnt really a sports injury question but its kind of related.

how to (healthily) decrease the amount of sleep you need?

or any ideas on where i can educate myself on this

    the important question here is, why would you want to decrease the amount of sleep that you are getting. Sleep is an essential part of the recovery process!

    just trying reducing it gradually. If you always go to bed around the same time then try gradually setting your alarm to go off earlier so your body gets used to less slepp gradually
