Soreness below the knee

I need some help. I have been running of and on for 1 1/2 years. I tend to always have some tenderness just below my left knee, on the inside and it seems to be on the bone, not muscle. I have been using orthotics for about the past year and this does not seem to be helping. It tends not to bother me much but hurts when touched, almost like it is bruised. Has anyone experienced the same type of pain and if so what did you do to help the ‘healing’?

Is this pain at the very top of the shin? If so I can offer no solution, only sympathy because I have it too! None of the diagnoses on this site quite match. If anybody has a suggestion, please share it!!
