spinal tap gone bad

My sister had a spinal tap done in March…the neurologist went into the wrong “L”…can’t remember which one but she now has drop foot and her right leg moves constantly..she has severe cramping in all muscles in that leg..she is on muscle relaxers, pain med, valium, phenibarbital,(excuse the spelling) efexor for depression and now methadone because she is hooked on the pain meds…. I am told that there is an implant that stimulates the damaged nerve to her leg that will stop the spasms and constant movement.
Is there anyone out there that can relate????
I am at my wits end.. She is so drugged up that she cannot function anymore.. The insurance company has sent her case to their board and it has been almost 2 months..Meanwhile, she will die I think from all the meds.
I need some input fast.. It is all from a spinal tap that was not done right…her root nerve to the right leg was damaged and from everything I have heard, it is irreversible… Please write if you have any new information or ideas or have been thru the same thing… I feel like I have to save her life.. I would rather get a small settlement rather than a huge one because she died… Please help.. Thanks

Tammy,Sorry to hear about your sister. Please do whatever it takes to get your sister to a “Pain Specialist” ASAP! These specialists should be able to help her with her pain, especially in the short term. They are also experts in getting people long-term relief w/o using the typical addictive narcotic medications. After you sister is able to get off some of those narcotics, she should start to think more logically. She also really needs to be under the care of a good Phychiatrist for her depression. All this depression is normal, and to be expected, for a person with her physical problems. She needs to be re-assured, and helped to understand this fact, so that she can begin to cope with her condition. Please let us know how she makes out, and we wish her a complete recovery.
