spiral break ankle

I have a spiral break of the ankle. I had surgery last Wed. and had a plate and screws put in. The Doc says I have abnormal swelling and that the healing process will take longer for me. However, I get these spasms that during sleep the spasms will cause my leg to jump and then come crashing back down. or they cause my foot to snap foward. This cause extreme pain. I have asked my doctor about them but he doesn’t seem to be concerned. Has anyone else had this problem and what can I do to stop these spasms?

I had those spasms and they have subsided. None 3 weeks after surgery. I didn’t do anything they just went away. How did you break yours?

I broke mine sliding into home plate playing softball.

I broken my ankle a year ago and had trouble for a long time. I can’t laid on my ankle and it’s still in pain. My foot and leg go num and when standing on it for a while it goes num. It also swelling up. Trying to lose weight and walking is hard.
