Sport Hernia – can I make a comeback???

I was injured in sports (soccer) and went to 6 professors and none found out that I had a hernia. After 3 years and a half a small parts ultrasound showed the hernia on my right side just above my bladder. I have been operated with a hernia now for 1 year and 2 months and it was done with a mesh.
After 5 months from the operation I began slow training – walking out and indoor heated pool. Since April this year I began joging and running, and from last month I am frequenting a gym. This month the soccer pre-season will commence and I am still thinking about should I begin again or not? I only feel uncomftable when jumping and some sudden movements. My question is – is there a chance of a soccer comeback for me? and how should I train more for it? Maybe more abdominal training? Please help!

I’m no doctor, but I am a soccer player with a simliar injury. If you feel at all uncomfortable jumping or making sudden moves, then maybe you’re not ready to hit the soccer field because there is a lot of such movement in the game and you could re-injure. Talk to a physical therapist about proper training methods.
