Started Running Again. Help with calves
Have put on lot of weight.
To lose it I started jogging this past week. Could run longer w/o getting winded, but have to stop because calves hurt/ache so bad when I run.
What is going on and how can I get painful symptonms to go away so I can focus on distance and losing weight?

Lee,It sounds like shin splints. A definite reaction to the extra weight your carrying. I wrote in about similar problems that have been chronic with me and started the same way. I was over weight and playing basketball. I suggest you take up Ty-Bo or something until the weight comes off, and then start running. Once you get shin splints they are hard to get rid of. I have lost my weight, but I am still suffering because I tried to play through the pain.
