Swelling can persist depending on the extent of the injury, the patient’s health and level of activity. If the injured area is not fully healed and it is reaggravated, it will swell more. Gravity is the enemy of lower extremity problems. The lymphatic sysytem may still be in disrepair, hence the swelling. Wearing the compression hose is probably the simplest thing to do for the time being. Unfortunately, I treally can’t give a time line of when you will be well. Checking for DVT’s was appropriate.
